The 5th edition of IFFK had two sections: Competition and Out of Competition. The Korean film Mayonnaise directed by Yoon-In Ho won Suvarna Chakoram for the award for the best feature film. Jayaraj’s Karunam bagged special Jury prize for its simplicity and truthfulness in the subtle evocation of love as the ultimate act of our existence. The Brazilian film Through the Window directed by Tata Amaral also bagged special jury prize for its strong character study.
Jury
Marco Muller was Jury Chairperson of the film festival. The other members are Abderrahmane Sissako, Tadao Sato, M.T.Vasudevan Nair and Bae Yong-kyun.
